Founded in 1943, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that represents 175,000 educators from more than 135 countries and 58 affiliates. ASCD, a community of educators, advocating sound policies and sharing best practices to achieve the success of each learner.
- National Staff Development Council (NSDC)
The purpose of the National Staff Development Council (NSDC) is to ensure that every educator engages in effective professional learning every day so every student achieves. The NSDC home page contains such things as the NSCD standards, a staff development library and listings for NSDC projects, academies and conferences.

- Kansas Staff Development Council (KSDC)
The Kansas Staff Development Council (KSDC) is an affiliate organization of the National Staff Development Council. KSDC was formed to provide current information relating to the needs and concerns of staff development personnel. Additionally, KSDC promotes effective staff development practices, cooperates with other organizations to promote staff development activities, provides assistance with the design and implementations of staff development programs, and expands training opportunities for staff development leaders.

- What Works
Clearinghouse (WWC)
The What Works Clearinghouse was established in 2002 by the U.S. Department of Education's Institute of Education Sciences to provide educators, policymakers, researchers, and the public with a central and trusted source of scientific evidence of what works in education. The WWC aims to promote informed education decision making through a set of easily accessible databases and user-friendly reports that provide education consumers with high-quality reviews of the effectiveness of replicable educational interventions (programs, products, practices, and policies) that intend to improve student outcomes.
- Florida Center for Reading Research (FCRR)
The Florida Center for Reading Research was established by Governor Jeb Bush in January, 2002. It is jointly administered at Florida State University by the Learning Systems Institute and the College of Arts and Sciences. Its mission is to conduct basic research on reading, reading growth, reading assessment, and reading instruction that will contribute to the scientific knowledge of reading and benefit students in Florida and throughout the nation.

- Northwest Regional Education Laboratory (NWREL)
At NWREL, we work to make a difference in students' lives and those who support their learning. As a private nonprofit, we measure our progress in the success of teachers and learners who put our research and training to work. We take our priorities from the educational needs of the region, and of the nation. NWREL conducts programs and projects within four Centers of Excellence. Services include classroom teaching and learning; improving schools and districts; school, family, and community; and research, evaluation, and assessment.

- United School Administrators of Kansas (USA-KS): Political Action Committee (PAC)
USA, in cooperation with other organizations that are committed to improving Kansas public education, has a political action committee. The purpose of the PAC is to endorse and support candidates who realize the importance of public education and will support efforts to improve it. The name of the educational political action committee is Educating All Children in Kansas Political Action Committee (the E-PAC). The Committee is politically nonpartisan.

- Career Clusters
To prepare today's students for tomorrow, schools are working to help students achieve in challenging subjects. One key approach to this goal is to provide students with relevant contexts for learning. Career Clusters link what students learn in school with the knowledge and skills they need for success in college and careers. Career clusters identify pathways from secondary school to two- and four-year colleges, graduate school, and the workplace, so students can learn in school and what they can do in the future. This connection to future goals motivates students to work harder and enroll in more rigorous courses.
